Question about green farming
So, when trying to get a specific weapon drop off of a boss, I know that it is best to have the fewest players possible present so that the odds of getting the green drop are better. How about using a party of heroes though? Since all drops are yours, if a green item does drop it will always be yours, and, since green items are excluded from the scaling algorithm shouldn't you get the same drop rate as though you were alone? Thanks in advance!

they can be assigned to heroes as they can be assigned to other players.

Heroes get their share of drops too, they just convert them to gold. Green farming with a full party can be a bit of an art form, knowing when is a good time to flag your heroes out of compass range so you will get the drop assigned to yourself instead.

Only thing i can add is - never assume a green will drop anytime.
Yesterday i was shocked when myself and a guildie + 6 heros went to vq unwaking waters map for faction farming.Ive probably done over 80 runs here and only seen 2 greens ever drop and was from the ele boss.My guildie must have been the luckiest bugger going as he got green off the oni boss and razjans green sword in same run.
Ive seen people farm a boss for hrs solo and get nothing - then someone gets one first time on the map.
Infact i`ll say probably the easiest green to get is broodmothers claws - raptor farmers can vouch for that lol.

Hello, you should try sorrow furnace in NM with 7 heroes. Once you killed everything but boss, flag heroes/henchs away and you will have chances on getting a green drop :
- NM is fine and bosses there don't have many skills, so it shouldn't be really hard killing them 1v1
- Bosses there can drop 3 greens, so you have more chances, but you can also have 2-3 greens dropping..

I used to do a lot of Sorrow's green farming (because it's fun). The trick is to call the Priest of Sorrows in the group and have your group spike him to death. At that point you can flag your heroes away since a spirit spammer can handle the mob after that. If the Priest is alive, it's hard to solo the mob because he keeps healing and rezzing. Also, if a Taskmaster happens to decide to target you with massive degen hexes, just run away back to your group because he can kill you.

i once read a theory about heroes in the party, the math looks like this. let say a boss drops a green every "X" amount of visits.
add an hero it lessens by 50%
add another hero and that divides again by 50%
so on and so forth.
that like 1 divided by 2 seven times.
that like an 8% chance divided by the luck of "x" about of sheer randomness.
add to this is the problem of is it an over farmed area? now it gets worse!
from what i also understand is if you visit an area to many times area net understand this , and makes drops more infrequent. i think you have to take a 20 min brake from that area after three times to bring drop rate back up.
if you guys have the current data.. please let me know if i have it wrong.

If that was true, you would only have a 1 in 128 x 8% chance of getting the green (1 in 1600). That just isn't the case.
Basically greens drop about 1:10 times and get sent to a random member of the party. If you have a full 8 man party, whether it's with heroes or other humans, that means you have a 1:80 chance of getting a green when you kill a boss.
And all the nonsense about overfarming and "taking breaks from an area" is nothing but anecdotal guessing. I used to track raptor farms for literally a thousand runs and there was never any evidence of drop rates changing at any particular point during farming.
